Equal pay, is it practical?

Equal pay

Paying workers in the same company equal Salary promotes respect and harmony among the employees. The employees will feel that their efforts are rewarded fairly. In companies where employees are paid disproportionately, it creates disharmony between the employees. Some employees will feel that they are doing the same work as another employee but receiving less pay. Salary is a very sensitive issue within a company and affects employees’ morale. If employees feel paid less than they deserve, their motivation to work will decrease.

However, the issue of paying the same Salary is not practical. Employes are different and do not bring the same value to the organization. The issue of equal pay especially among women who feel paid less than their male counterparts yet work on the same job. The issue of equal pay is very important, especially when it comes to the issue of gender. Men are generally paid more than women even when working on the same job (Whitehouse, 2020). Women feel that their efforts are not regarded and feel discriminated against for being paid less than their male counterparts. In such companies, there is animosity between the male and female employees who feel disenfranchised and that their value in the organization is not being appreciated.

It is important for companies to ensure that their issue of gender is well addressed and that the employees are not discriminated against based on their gender. Women employees who are paid less will be less motivated and will not be committed to the organization…
