How do you feel about cyberporn?

I feel that cyberporn is not as controversial as perpetuated by the conservative social and religious groups. From the study, it is clear that porn constitutes only about 3 percent of the messages trafficked on the internet. This shows that a lot of other important things happen on the internet. Also, accessing cyberporn on the internet is not an accidental thing. One has to intentionally search for the content. I think that cyberporn should not create much controversy and lead to limiting of free speech and restrictions on the internet.

What do you think about the case study?

The case study talks about the process when the internet free speech was under threat from conservative groups who argued that the internet should be restricted like other electronic media because of the potentially harmful content such as cyberporn which is readily available on the internet. A three-judge bench heard the case and took their time to personally scroll over the internet and determine whether the allegations made by the social and conservatives’ religious groups were reasonable. The judges disagreed with the conservatives and protected the freedom of speech offered by the intent. The judges determined that there is nothing better than the internet in giving people the right and the platform to offer their views. Restricting the internet like other electronic media such as radio and television will amount to denying the freedom of free speech to the citizens.
